Geometry

This week for Maths Mrs Jones' groups have been learning about reflection, rotation, and translation, or in simple terms flipping, turning and sliding shapes.
After we did some learning on Monday we were given the challenge to create something to share with others to show our learning. We could choose to create anything - a Google Drawing, a Google Presentation, a dance to be videoed, make a book, etc.
We then had some time to get busy and "create" over the rest of Monday and Tuesday's Maths sessions.
These are our finished results - we hope you enjoy learning about how shapes can be flipped, slid and turned.

  4. Tumeke! Thank you for sharing your creativity with math - flip, turn and slide. I really like the way you have all chosen to present your work in different ways and are sharing your learning on your syndicate blog. That means that people like me, who live in Whangarei, can see your work! I this this is an amazing example of Learn, Create, Share in Math and I am going to share your work on our Manaiakalani Outreach blog for other teachers and students to learn from. I liked how you put those cool backgrounds. I liked how you explained how slide goes up and down. You need to work on your capital letters. St Bernadette’s School, Room1

  8. Hi there, my name is Bailey and I am a student in Room Wahi Ako at Hornby Primary School. I really like that you didn’t forget capital letters and full stops in your sentences. It made me think of how good you are at spelling and writing. Have you thought about making another blog post? I loved seeing the different ways you have been creative to show and share your learning. I particularly enjoyed the singing and dancing clips. It is great to have opportunities for all of us to learn in different ways.
